False Stereotypes about Edo People

Now, there are a lot of stereotypes about Edo people out there, hell, there are stereotypes about every and all Nigerian tribes. But sometimes, like in this case, they are terrible lies that must be addressed.

In this post, we look at five of the most egregious lies ever told of the Benin people:

Edo People like Wahala

We are actually very peaceful jor. In fact, If they born their papa well, the person that spread this lie, should show their face…

No? nobody? That’s what I thought

We are peaceful generally. Just that once once our heads will be sparking and people around have no choice but to collect. But you will really never find a more respectful and compassionate group of people. Just don’t do anyhow because you will certainly see anyhow.

Edo Men Will Serve You Breakfast

Edo men love love. They just don’t think it is the be all and end all of a relationship. For the average Edo man, that status goes to a part of the body I’d rather not say.

If they do serve you breakfast, it’s more likely to be in bed (and that’s not likely at all). Edo men will love you to piecesssss. Do proceed to love them at your own risk sha.

Edo People Only Use Edo Airlines

I mean, Benin Yahoo Boys didn’t defraud all those poor people to buy the latest Benz only for this stereotype to still persist. We use other forms of transportation too.

We really are a diverse group of people with enough good sense to know that Edo Airlines (powered by plantain leaves) cannot take

Edo Men Are Lazy

Edo men are very hardworking, just ask our tireless bus conductors and lebuke people (laborers) who toil day and night.

Italy Is Our Second Home

I-ta-ly is not a bad place to have as a second home. And it is a great marketplace for certain services we are known to provide. Besides, we have a lot of friends and fans there.

Final Word

Jokes apart, Edo people are great and certainly not a monolith. The best way to know us is to meet us.

Did we miss any lies people have been saying about Benin people? Comment them below and shame the devil.
