Chilling Chow did not mince words with its name: it promises a place to chill and eat after a long day’s work of trying to make ends meet. So that you will not have to, we went to check if this promise was just for mouth or if they really meant business.
Chilling Chow is located at 2 Sadoh Lane, Ihama Road, behind De Brit Hotel, GRA, and is a nightlife spot. Just in case you’re not sure what that means; they’re open from 6 pm to 12 pm.
The Chilling
If you have four tires and are wondering where you will park them, Chilling Chow has a parking arrangement that more or less works, so don’t worry about it. Mind you, it’s not exactly a car park, just a street arrangement.
With ivy hanging from the ceiling, graffiti walls, and low benches, the space is nice but nothing out of the ordinary. It is neither too small nor too big and is designed like your regular bar/lounge. Note that Chilling Chow was recently renovated so even if you have been there in the past, you will find something new in your next visit.
There’s a VIP section with a simple couch and benches. It’s a pretty cozy space but interior-wise, it didn’t really stand out. Perhaps you are beginning to see a pattern.

The Chow
The food at Chilling Chow is by far its stand-out piece. They boasted of an expansive menu with cocktails, wine, and the usual restaurant dishes. We were impressed at how delicious their fried rice and spaghetti were. When we thought we’d seen it all, we were served a special pasta dish that went straight to our brains. What a star dish! They also had a grill.
The food was reasonably priced at 3500 – 15000 and you can get cocktails from 4000 – 7000. The presentation was just fine and we didn’t have to wait very long for our order.
The Staff and Convenience
The staff was very polite and helpful. We loved the DJ on standby who gave us good music back-to-back. They really left us nodding our heads to the rhythm. Their restroom was also clean and well taken care of.
Our Thoughts
Chilling Chow is a bit hidden in a residential area. While this might not be good for business, it gives them the appeal of not being crowded or stuffy. So customers who can find the place will enjoy good food and fantastic music in a non-crowded place. If you are looking for a place to just chill, listen to good music, and enjoy premium calmness after a bustling day, Chilling Chow is certainly worth seeing for yourself.
