Osasere: My Ex is the Spawn of the Devil

Osasere is a final student at the University of Benin. In 2019, he had a relationship with a girl, who he chooses not to name. The relationship turned out to be the worst decision of his life. Hear his story:

The Beginning: Osasere Meets Girl

My ex-partner is the spawn of the devil. She is a sociology student at UNIBEN, a pretty dark-skinned girl of average height. She appeared like a sane person to me at first, an angel, but it’s crazy how far people are willing to go to live a lie.

We met in a church, even though she claims we had previously met at UNIBEN’s Sports Complex during a competition. I’ll go with her story though because I find it hard to recognize faces, but now knowing how much of a liar she is, it wouldn’t be shocking if she made that up.

So back to the church story, I had just changed churches, and walking into this new house of worship, she was the usher that welcomed me into the building. When newcomers had to wait after the close of service, she also attended to us along with some ministers.

Soon after, she got pregnant and told me about the pregnancy saying I was the father. I was scared and confused but I believed her. Throughout that period, she had an issue with whatever I did and it always resulted in lots of quarrels.

Osasere: Let’s Date!

The relationship started sometime in 2019, I think it should be around August/September. By now I was a frequent member of the church and was about to join the workforce, and every Saturday she was a familiar face at the Sports Complex where I go to keep fit.

Wherever we met, whether at church or Sports Complex, we always had good short conversations that we both wanted to last longer, so I summoned up the courage and asked her out on a date. It was a party organized by the student union and was to feature some local artists. We both got tired of the show and decided to head to an eatery that night, the plan was to eat and return to the show, maybe it would have gotten better by then. That wasn’t to be, as we ended up staying in the restaurant, gisting till around 1 am when the eatery closed. We were both too tired to go back to the party so we went to our hostels, the next day, I asked her to be my girlfriend and she accepted.

To the question of ‘why her?’, I’d say why not. She was calm, or let me say, looked calm. I thought we had similar interests, and her exploits in her role in the church meant that she loved God, so why not? She was also a great conversationalist so she provided much-needed companionship for me

The part that struck me most was when she said she didn’t even care about sports or movies. She just came to the sports complex because she knew I always went there and she faked her interest in movies because it was something I also liked. It was like one of those stalker horror stories we read on the Internet but this time it was happening to me.

The relationship was pretty good at first. She was cool to talk to and we seemed to have similar interests, so everything was fine. We always spent the evenings together except during exams, so everyone around us knew us together and I felt this was going to lead somewhere.

A Problem Somewhere

Close to a year after we started dating, I started noticing a pattern. Her phone was always switched off at night, or it was probably on airplane mode, even when she comes to see me, she puts her phone on airplane mode so no one calls or texts her and I found it weird, but she said it was nothing.

Friends started telling me about seeing her being picked up by several guys with cars. They said the saw her in clubs and restaurants with some other guys. I was in love so I paid no attention to them all.

A Pregnancy in the Mix

Soon after, she got pregnant and told me about the pregnancy saying I was the father. I was scared and confused but I believed her. Throughout that period, she had an issue with whatever I did and it always resulted in lots of quarrels. One of my friends found out I was not the father of the unborn baby. She had confessed to her friends in a series of voice notes that it was for someone else.

After listening to these voice notes, I was devastated and discussed this with her. We had a quarrel and a fight, she insulted the hell out of me. In a rage, she confessed to several things, like poisoning my water dispenser with Hypo one time we disagreed. This landed me in the hospital. She also confessed to setting me up with some cult boys. An event that led to bodily harm and me losing some of my property.

Revelation of the Devil

She said a lot more, some of which I don’t want to recap but she is evil. The part that struck me most was when she said she didn’t even care about sports or movies. She just came to the sports complex because she knew I always went there. She faked her interest in movies because it was something I also liked. It was like one of those stalker horror stories we read on the Internet. This time it was happening to me.

She left my place that day, screaming that she was going to deal with me. She even threatened to have me killed. Right now, I don’t like anything about her. She is a spawn of the devil. The worst person I have ever known and I hope she suffers wherever she is now.
