8 Jobs You Can Do as Students in Edo

In this economy, students in Edo who solely rely on their parents are seeing red. To survive (read: ball), you must have a side hustle that is bringing in some cash so that you will not be lamenting and asking God why he didn’t make you Dangote’s child.

Because you already have a lot of materials to read, let’s just jump straight to the point. Here are 8 jobs you can do as students in Edo:

Project Writer

If you have the head for it, writing projects and assignments for lazy students can bring in some much-needed cash. It’s not exactly above board but as far as making money as a student goes, this works.

Online Tutor

You can organize online classes and charge for it. The challenge with getting people together for lessons used to be where you will meet them, but with the Internet today, it’s very easy.

Social Media Manager

You already spend all your time on social media, if it’s not Instagram or TikTok, it’s Twitter or Snapchat (some of you have even joined Threads!). Why not offer all your wealth of knowledge to SMEs trying to create a brand online and begin to make money?

Resume Writer

Even one who is looking for a job requires a resume. Learn what it requires and start jumping on the business. There’s a lot of money to be made and you already have your market – your class.

Freelance Writer

Don’t let anyone deceive you – writing can pay a lot. Whether you are starting on Fiverr or just connecting with people online, offer writing services that people are often in need of. It could be resumes, business proposals, letters of intent, academic or technical writings – some people might even require you to draw up a contract.

Online Influencers

Your youth is very attractive and, if you look at the number of people who are online influencers today, there are all young and vibrant. So who’s to say you cannot make it as an online influencer? Just don’t go into it thinking it is going to be easy. Being an online influencer is hard work.

Freelance Photographer

You can start small, even with your phone. Many top photographers that cover elite events today all started very small. As a student, no one is asking you to have expensive DSLRs, just start where you are.

Freelance Web Designer

Web designers are making a lot of money, don’t play. Web designing is not rocket science, in many ways, it’s just like designing anything. Just understand the principles behind it and follow through.

When you work and study at university, finding the right balance between the two can be tricky. But here are a few things you can do to help:

  • Try to choose a low-stress job that won’t interfere with your education.
  • Make a schedule that outlines your working hours and the time allotted for your studies.
  • Take a break from work and school to engage in some leisure activities to restore your energy.
  • Avoid skipping study assignment due dates. Failure to fulfill a deadline might cause additional stress that affects both your job and academics.
  • Make yourself available for extra work during your university breaks because it will be easier to lower your hours later to fit in the studies if you do this.
