Review: Why Woods Will Wow You

If you thought Woods by Roadrunners was an eau de parfum or designer clothing brand, I can see why. It is, however, a wood-themed restaurant. And if you don’t know what a wood-themed restaurant looks like, I’ll do my best to describe it in detail.

Located at 83 Boundary Road, GRA, Benin City, Woods by Roadrunners is committed to the assignment it gave itself: make everything you can out of wood. I mean, I am not complaining; I absolutely love the direction they went with.

The Wooden Place

Immediately you get to Woods by Roadrunners, you are welcomed with their name written in red on a black fence, very cool. And if you are wondering where you can park your wooden cart, Woods has a spacious parking lot, so there is nothing to worry about.

Woods has both an outdoor and indoor space. Unlike other restaurant establishments, the outdoor space is the main area (very inventive). The interior space is small and chill while the outdoor room is very spacious, and the design is wood inspired.

In fact, to say that Woods has wood is an understatement. We were looking at wooden furniture, ceilings, floors, trays, and cutlery. Wood is everywhere at Woods. Maybe they should start selling planks of wood for more authenticity.

The Torn Menu

The menu is regular. You get fried rice, jollof, English breakfast, continental dishes, Chinese, wings, burgers, chips, and small chops. The food there is averagely priced. You can also order exotic drinks and smoothies. One thing about the physical menu, it was torn.

Even though the food was delicious and we absolutely enjoyed it (those wings were juicy), the time it took to get to us was rather long and frustrating. The presentation was rather unremarkable, although I liked the wooden tray and sauce bowl.

Our Final Thoughts

I love the idea of a wood-themed restaurant and their commitment to it; it was giving this ranch-like vibe that I really loved. So the concept is great and when it first opened, Woods was nice, but in recent times, their standards have sort of dropped. I will recommend Woods for the experience.

Try these food combos and thank us later.
